Where rigor meets craft

I'm a Computer Science and Statistics double major at Brown University, drawn to the space where rigorous engineering meets human creativity. I've shipped full-stack apps, trained ML models, and taught data structures — and off-screen, I make things stitch by stitch. Same instinct, different medium: turn structure into something people want to use.

Undergraduate Teaching Assistant, CSCI 0200

Brown University, Department of Computer Science

  • Support instruction in Java and Python, debugging and reviewing student implementations of core data structures (linked lists, hash maps, priority queues, trees) and algorithms (BFS, DFS) with feedback on efficiency, tradeoffs, and design.
  • Lead labs, code reviews, and office hours — teaching Big-O analysis, unit testing, matrices, and regex with concise, actionable guidance.

Software Engineer Intern

Women's Entrepreneurship Day Organization

  • Designed and prototyped an automated multi-channel feedback system (email & SMS) collecting responses across programs (AI Education, UN Summit, Ambassador Yearly Impact).
  • Applied NLP to synthesize qualitative feedback into structured insights and actionable recommendations for program improvements.

Fellowship Research Assistant

Brown University, Cognitive & Psychological Sciences

  • Implemented behavioral experiments on trust, advice-taking, and learning from human vs. AI sources; ran literature reviews, web scraping, and large-scale text analysis with R for computational modeling and NLP.
  • Built interactive online research tasks and surveys with HTML5, JavaScript, and React for efficient, data-driven collection.

Munchy Munchy

A full-stack food-tour optimization app that turns a city, a budget, and a time limit into a walkable itinerary of restaurants and landmarks. Pitched, funded, designed, and shipped.

  • Built the backend in JavaScript/TypeScript and designed the frontend in Figma Make, deploying via Vercel and AWS.
  • Integrated Google APIs for city-search autocomplete, optimized route generation and ETA estimation under time and budget constraints.

Risk-Constrained Portfolio Optimization

A mean–variance portfolio optimizer that maximizes expected return subject to risk constraints — the constrained-optimization toolkit of quantitative finance.

  • Built and solved convex optimization models in Python (CVXPY) across varying risk tolerances.
  • Analyzed allocation shifts and diversification as constraints tightened, computing returns and covariance from historical stock data.

Pet Food Toxicity Detector

A full-stack mobile app that uses image recognition to assess whether plants and foods are toxic to pets — ML in service of a very real problem.

  • Built in TypeScript with Expo Go, using K-Nearest Neighbors and open-source plant-identification models for image-based toxicity assessment.
  • Led backend for toxicity analysis: data integration, ambiguity-handling algorithms, GPT-generated reports, and extensive testing.

Scrabble

A from-scratch recreation of Scrabble in Java — object-oriented design, real game logic, and a hand-built GUI.

  • Modeled gameplay with multi-class inheritance and OOP principles for clean, streamlined play.
  • Used HashSets, HashMaps, ArrayLists, and 2D arrays for move validation, scoring, and sorting; designed a JavaFX GUI from scratch.

Made by hand, stitch by stitch

Away from the keyboard, I crochet. It's the same thing I love about code — structure, pattern, and the quiet satisfaction of building something one careful step at a time — just rendered in yarn instead of syntax.
